Can Hypnotherapy Help With Panic Attacks?
Understanding and reducing the fear cycle behind panic

Hypnotherapy may help some people who experience panic attacks by addressing both the physical stress response and the fear associated with the sensations of panic.
A panic attack can involve a rapid increase in physical sensations such as a racing heart, dizziness, breathlessness, trembling or feeling detached. These sensations can then become frightening, creating a cycle in which fear increases the body's alarm response.
Therapeutic work can focus on helping the nervous system develop calmer responses, changing catastrophic interpretations of bodily sensations and reducing the fear of having another attack.
The goal is not simply to tell yourself “don't panic”. It is to help your mind and body learn that the sensations associated with anxiety do not necessarily mean that you are in danger.
If new or unexplained physical symptoms occur, medical assessment should always be considered.
