Why Do I Feel Responsible for Everyone Else's Feelings?

Understanding emotional responsibility and boundaries

Some people become highly sensitive to the emotions of those around them and automatically feel responsible for making everyone comfortable or happy.
This can develop through family experiences, relationship patterns or learned beliefs about conflict and responsibility.
Caring about another person's feelings is healthy. Believing that you must control or fix their feelings is different.
Learning this distinction can reduce guilt and emotional exhaustion.
Therapy can help identify the beliefs that created this pattern and develop healthier boundaries while maintaining empathy and compassion.
