Can Hypnotherapy Help With Grief?

Supporting you through the emotional experience of loss

Grief is a natural response to loss and can affect everyone differently. There is no single correct way to grieve and no universal timetable for feeling better.
Grief may involve sadness, anger, guilt, anxiety, numbness, loneliness, changes in sleep or difficulty concentrating. Emotions can also appear unexpectedly, sometimes long after the loss.
Therapy can provide a safe and supportive environment in which these emotions can be explored without judgement.
Hypnotherapy may sometimes be incorporated to support relaxation, sleep, emotional regulation or feelings of inner calm.
However, the purpose should not be to erase grief or make you “move on” before you are ready. Grief is not an illness that needs to be switched off.
If grief becomes overwhelming or significantly affects your ability to function, additional specialist support may be appropriate.
